On my recent trip to Kauai I experienced a number of activities that I thoroughly enjoyed. My favorite day was probably towards the end of the trip when we went to the Wailea River to go kayaking. Since there was 5 people wanting to go kayaking and we only had two double kayaks one of us had to paddle a long board up and down the river. The river had beautiful scenery from mangroves and cliffs to birds and fish. After paddling under a long row of trees that formed a tunnel, we reached our destination, the rope swing. The rope swing was at a bend in the river where there was a large tree with a rope tied to it. After walking up the side of a cliff you could grab the rope and throw yourself out into the deeper water below. After jumping off the rope swing so many times I couldn’t pull myself up anymore so I grabbed the long board and did a little exploring up the river. It was starting to get late so we all decided it was time to start heading back down the river. I took the liberty of paddling the long board back to the car. After we were done kayaking and paddling we all loaded back into car and drove to one of the local shave ice stands, always the best way to end a good day.
