| A typical day on the luscious island of Kauai may not be considered a “typical” day at all. In fact, my last trip to Kauai did not consist of one typical day to say the least. Waking up and looking out the window to see the miles and miles of deep blue just yards in front of me was just one luxurious perk to my mornings. Getting up and driving a mile or so to go zip lining across valleys and rivers of the tropical island is nothing less than exhilarating. I will never forget the thrill of being suspended by just a wire and zipping across scenic and breathtaking views you see on the front of “Wish You Could Be Here” postcards. Going home and sitting on the back deck and eating a home-grilled burger is just the thing that makes my day complete. When we got to the zip lining place we checked in and started the process of preparation. First they weigh you so that they are sure that you made the weight requirement of 85lbs. If you are too small, you may not make it the whole way across the zip line run. If you are too heavy... well we all know what will happen then! The certified instructors then strap you into a full harness that goes around your legs, around your waist, and over your shoulders. The last safety equipment is the helmet. We all had to wear bright yellow huge, bulky helmets. When everyone in your group is ready, they take you in an off road vehicle to a stop off the road. There are a total of eight zip lines. You complete 7 zip lines flying across high ravines through a tropical forest. Stop for lunch, go for a swim, and complete the last one. The instructor hooks you in and off you go to the landing ramp. By the end of the day we were all pretty tired even though we didn't know it. When we arrived back home, we stopped at Queens bath. I jumped off a really high rock into a pool of water filled by the ocean. We even saw some sea turtles... that was the best day! Some other cool things on the island Kauai fishing Kauai
